My name is Kenneth, and I am the CEO and founder of Authentik. I want to share part of my story with you because to know who I am, you must know who I was and the journey that brought me here.
I grew up in a small lake town north of Dallas, TX called The Colony. Sports performance, weightlifting, and general exercise have been a part of my life since I was young. Exercise was first taught to me as a way of practice from each of the sports I played. I participated in numerous sports in high school and followed suit in college. Over my college career, I competed and received a scholarship in 3 different college sports, including football, track, and cheerleading. I have continued this competitive athletic lifestyle as an adult by adopting a competitive bodybuilding lifestyle.
As I reflect on my journey, one of the things that sticks out is food was not always considered fuel for me. This makes perfect sense considering in my adolescent years everything seemed to taste better fried or with a nice covering of white sausage gravy. Servings were counted in the number of plates eaten, not ounces of food. All meals ended with something sweet as a reward for "cleaning my plate." After numerous seizure-like eisodes in
high school that would later be diagnosed as early pre-diabetes, I had to make some serious changes.
Self-care and the habits that go with a high-performance lifestyle (e.g.,sleep, nutrition, emotional health, mindset work, self-love, recovery, and general health body maintenance) weren't exactly being taught to the youth at the time or shown by example by the adults I was around, as this wasn't common knowledge that was being talked about in the community I was growing up in.
As I got older and retired from sports and had to become responsible for my self-care and the projection of my future, I realized I had to learn new habits and adopt a new way of thinking about health and human performance. I had to produce a version of myself so that I would no longer be held back by the physical ailments I was creating with my lifestyle choices.
Over the last 10+ years, I have been mastering my craft through the following areas of expertise and experiences:
Personal trial and error within my health journey.
Acquiring knowledge from some of the greatest minds in health, human performance, rest and recovery, mindset, soul set, emotional growth, and self-love.
One-on-one sessions with high performance athletes, which includes physique bodybuilding competitors, marathon runners, football and soccer players, and cheerleaders.
Long-term client/coach relationships with high-performance professionals in industries such as oil & gas, law, medical, sports coaching, and finance.
Having the privilege of working with this vast group of people, I have amassed a large amount of data pertaining to the human body and performance. As a result, I have narrowed down the areas that are necessary to focus on to take your physique, energy, performance, and overall health and well-being to the next level. These areas include:
Now that you know a little about where I've been, who I have become, and what I believe it takes to get you to the next level, I sure would love to get to know you and help you become who you want to become. So, let's assess the areas we need to address to get you where you want to go. Let's connect!
